Alex & The Cakes is a home-bakery based in West London where high quality ingredients are essential.
I believe that cakes are the best treat ever and deserve to remain on the “healthy” side with natural and good ingredients (even if it’s all about sugar and butter!).
This philosophy means no artificial flavour, no palm oil, shortening or hydrogenated fat, no bottled eggs or preservatives. I only use natural ingredients such as free range eggs, organic milk, delicious Belgian chocolate and real butter, among other amazing products.
Each cake is made on request: the oven will be turned on once I have received your order. Moist sponge cakes, buttery pie crust, fluffy whipped cream and flavourful fillings, here we come!

I use cardboard boxes
that are easy
to reuse or recycle

I am a French Pastry Chef living and working in London.
Taking a sabbatical after 15 years working in communication, I had the great opportunity to start baking full time. I went to culinary school and graduated in Patisserie. I practised a lot in my own kitchen, read every book and blog I could lay my hands on to end up working as Pastry Chef at The Connaught, a 5-star hotel in Central London. And now here I am, with my own business as home-baker. At your service!
